In this course you will be exposed to a range of important and current management and leadership techniques which will provide a sound basis for future managerial careers in both small and large businesses within a range of industries. The course covers the main theoretical approaches to the management of organisations including: principles governing the structure of organisations, theories of motivation and leadership, the role of the environment in the work of the manager, understanding the role of teams in organisations, an appreciation of the importance of strategic planning and an understanding of the ethical dimensions of the work of the manager. Assessment undertaken in this course will also provide a valuable foundation for future career planning and personal development.
