K’gari Research Station has a range of facilities with options for campers, researchers and school groups. It can accommodate groups of up to 100 people across its self-contained cabins, bunkrooms and camping area.
Facilities include modern toilet and shower blocks, outdoor barbeques and fire pits. A large commercial kitchen, dining area and weatherproof decks are available for hire.
Self-contained Cabins
There are six cabins, with a double bed in one bedroom, and bunkbed with trundle in the other room. Each cabin can sleep up to five people. Sheets, pillowcases, blankets and bath towels provided.
Small kitchenette with sink, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, crockery and cutlery. Toilet and shower (soap, shampoo and conditioner provided). Outdoor table and chairs.
Cabin guests also have access to barbeques, outdoor tables and fire pits.

Bunkrooms
Each bunkroom has two single beds. Sheets, pillowcases, blankets and bath towels provided.
Bunkroom guests use camp amenities and facilities. Soap, shampoo and conditioner provided.

Camping
Spacious, grassed campground, with dingo-proof fencing. Modern toilet and shower blocks, barbeque facilities and fire pits.
Large sites: Powered (9) and unpowered (6) sites for large tents, gazebos, campervans/trailers and caravans.
Groups travelling together will be accommodated in one area where possible.
Small sites: Unpowered sites, ideal for swags or small tents.

K'gari Research Station has a range of facilities for campers, researchers and student groups.
Modern toilet and shower facilities, covered barbeque areas, powered camping sites and cabins are all within the safety of a dingo-proof fence.
Catering
Hire the commercial kitchen to self-cater or arrange for private catering. We can provide advice on catering needs.
Large dining area, with tables and chairs.
Kitchen facilities include large commercial stove, cooktops, weber barbeque, cold rooms, freezer, crockery and urn.
The cabins are partially self-contained (microwave but no oven). Additionally, a number of barbecues are available, free-of-charge, for guest use.

Day visitors
Picnic and barbecue areas, a lawn area, picnic tables, toilets and hot showers are available for day-use by visitors. All visitors however must check-in at the site office upon arrival and be given a site briefing.
Check in/ Check Out
We aim to remain as flexible as possible with your check in and check out times. However, when there is another group arriving on the day of your departure, the standard departure time is 10am.
