TPP is offered during the Session 8 (Summer) teaching period which begins at the end of November and runs to the middle of January. This teaching period is much shorter than the standard semester. Check the key dates for the teaching period on the academic calendars.
The shorter time frame makes the program more intensive with the equivalent of two weeks’ worth of lectures, tutorials and independent study in each week of Session 8.
TPP applicants considering study in Session 8 should be mindful of the hours required when deciding whether to study full time or part time.
Comparison of semester to Session 8 (Summer) workload
Teaching period | Hours on campus per week | Number of teaching weeks | Hours of recommended independent study |
---|---|---|---|
Semester 1 or 2 | 3 hours per course | 13 weeks | 7-10 hours weekly, per course |
Session 8 (Summer) | 6 hours per course | 6 weeks | 14-20 hours weekly, per course |
Locations
In Session 8, TPP is delivered at Sunshine Coast campus only. Some TPP courses may be offered in Fraser Coast depending on demand.
Applying for undergraduate study
Session 8 TPP students who intend to commence an undergraduate place in Semester 1 must lodge their application with Student Central by the due date. Late applications may be accepted for programs that remain open.
Students should also be aware that offers of a place at UniSC are made after TPP grades are released in mid-February.
This is at the end of the major admissions period of the year when most new students have already enrolled; choices of class times when enrolling will be limited. Check the grade release date on the academic calendar.
