What is the University Basketball League (UBL)?
The University Basketball League (UBL) is a national university basketball competition providing a pathway for male and female basketballer players to study and play for their university. USC is one of eleven Australian universities and the only university in Queensland to compete in the 2022 national league which will run from March to May 2022.
Every game of the 2022 UBL will be livestreamed, with games played mid-week and home games at USC Stadium, USC Sunshine Coast.
How can I play in the UBL?
Students enrolled at the University of the Sunshine Coast can trial for the mens and womens teams. (TPP students are ineligible).

Apply for a UBL Bursary
USC is excited to launch a bursary program for eligible USC students participating in the UBL program in 2022, to support students with basketball and academic aspirations to achieve their goals. With the support of USC RipCity Basketball and InsideOut Basketball, USC will offer 4 x $2,500 bursaries to our UBL athletes in 2022, distributed evenly between male and female players.
Applications for the UBL bursary are now closed for semester 1, 2022 for full-time and part-time students enrolled in a USC undergraduate or postgraduate program.
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities for USC students
USC will ensure that the UBL program provides a university-wide, integrated learning experience with basketball and academic achievement valued equally. Where possible, USC will endeavour to provide opportunities for students in all functional roles within the UBL program. We are seeking expressions of interest for the following roles:
