Overview
Our UniSwim program is aimed towards young adults and adults who wish to add swimming to their health and fitness routine, and is available to UniSC staff, students and the general public.
We have beginner, intermediate and advanced level sessions to cater for all swimming levels and abilities. Morning and afternoon sessions are available throughout the week. Coaches customise these UniSwim sessions depending on the capabilities and skill sets of swimmers who attend.
In addition to group sessions, we offer 1:1 & 2:1 private coaching for a more personalised experience. These lessons can be arranged and booked via phone or visiting our friendly staff at the UniSC Sport and Fitness Kiosk.

Session types
Beginner: Our morning swimming sessions are catered to all levels. Those who attend will be grouped based on ability/level. Beginners will have a technique/skills focus, while intermediate and advanced swimmers will have a program designed to improve fitness, technique, and the various components of fitness.
Land Activation: Our land activation session is designed to be a warm-up for the proceeding swimming session. This session focuses on mobility, the core, and shoulder strengthening.
Intermediate/Advanced: In this session, swimmers will cover 2 to 3km, with the focus being on improving technique and the various components of fitness. Swimmers can competently swim 2-min or faster for 100m repeats in this squad.
Drills/Skills: In this session, a focus point (ie a skill, drill or stroke) will be chosen and the session will be designed to improve relevant aspects of the chosen swim stroke/skill.
Private Sessions
Our private swimming sessions cater for all levels and are tailored/designed to help you to meet your swimming, health and fitness goals. We offer flexible availability with our private lessons, and our friendly coaches are experienced. Our private lessons include a complimentary private lane for the individual/group, as well as entry to our aquatic facility.
