All USC Libraries will be closed until further notice.

Due to the temporary closure of all USC Libraries borrowing of items from the print collections is no longer possible.

Borrowing

USC students and staff are automatically registered to borrow from USC Library. You will require your university ID card to borrow.

Non-USC clients in the following categories are eligible to register as members of USC Library and borrow from the General Collection:

  • USC Alumni / graduates
  • Students and staff studying or working at another Australian or New Zealand University
  • Secondary school students (studying in Year 10, 11 or 12) enrolled at a school in the Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast, Caboolture or Moreton regions
  • Residents of the Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast, Caboolture and Moreton Bay regions

Off campus students

USC higher degree by research students who reside in Australia and outside of the Sunshine Coast region are eligible for a postal loans service.

Only material from the library General Collection is available for requesting by off-campus students. Short term loans and Reserve Collection may not be requested.

Use the Off-campus Request Form. Before you make a request, please ensure that you have checked the Library Catalogue for the item you are requesting.

You will be notified via email if an item is unavailable or on loan to another client. A hold will be placed on item/s on loan and your request will be processed as soon as possible.

The USC Library will pay postage charges to send material. The requester is responsible for all charges incurred in returning the material to the Library.

  • USC Alumni are eligible to register for in person borrowing from USC Library. To register bring photo ID to a Library Help Desk.
  • Alumni are eligible for remote access to selected Library databases for non-commercial purposes. Login using your USC network login (the same one you used as a student). Contact the Student IT Help Desk to reset your password if necessary.
  • Alumni are not eligible for the Reserve Collection, 1 Day Loans, 3 Day Loans, holds, digitisation request or inter-library loans.

Community
  • to register bring photo ID and proof of residence (e.g. driver's licence) to a Library Help Desk¬†
Reciprocal
  • membership is available to staff and students of universities which participate in the University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) agreement
  • to register bring photo ID and either a confirmation of current enrolment, a current payslip or confirmation of employment to a Library Help Desk
  • university ID cards are not accepted as proof of current enrolment/employment
Secondary school students
  • to register bring school ID to a Library Help Desk
  • for students under the age of 18 the registration form must be co-signed by a parent or guardian
