Spartans to restart campaign for Tokyo glory
15 May 2020
The USC Spartans will restart their Olympic and Paralympic campaigns next week, following the easing of some COVID-19 restrictions across Queensland this weekend.
Spartans swimmers, who have not trained at the University since late March, will be allowed to return to USC’s aquatic centre pools on Tuesday 19 May, provided strict protocols are followed.
Spartans coaches Chris Mooney and Nathan Doyle said team members will meet at the USC Stadium on Monday 18 May for a COVID-19 briefing.
Until further notice, access to USC's aquatic centre pools is limited only to the University’s three high-performance sporting teams.
Other University sporting facilities, such as the stadium and the gymnasiums, remain closed, while the athletics tracks and sports fields are open.
