UniSC Business School ranked in nation’s top 3 for quality

The University of the Sunshine Coast has ranked third nationally in the quality category of the inaugural AFR BOSS Best Business Schools list.

The business school at UniSC scored highly in student satisfaction and the Dean of UniSC’s School of Business and Creative Industries Professor Lorelle Frazer says the university’s programs speak to the needs of its local regions.

“Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay are dominated by small-to-medium businesses, so we are educating many future entrepreneurs and independent thinkers,” Professor Frazer said.

“UniSC business students are highly engaged people who choose to live and study in their region and give back to the local community.

“Every student completes either an industry placement or project with a local business as a requirement of their undergraduate degree.

Professor Frazer said small classes allowed for a more personalised experience, enabling students to connect with their instructor and other students in a supportive peer learning environment.

“We also offer flexibility in choice of learning mode – on campus, online or a blend of both, to suit busy lifestyles,” she said.

“Our MBA program has produced some extraordinary entrepreneurs who have developed or grown their businesses while studying.

“Courses are offered intensively over six-week cycles to enable students to focus on one or two courses at a time while developing their business plans in a supportive environment.

“In addition to formal programs of study, we offer a free business planning micro credential that provides local business owners with an understanding of the key factors underpinning business success.”

“This course has been supported by the State Government,” she said.

This AFR BOSS ranking draws on credible, verified and publicly available data that examines three pillars of reputation, quality and employment and salary prospects, or ‘career impact’, according to The Australian Financial Review.

It uses a mix of accreditation and performance factors, such as rigorous accreditation process and score on publicly available research quality and student satisfaction scorecards.

The ranking came shortly after UniSC students reported some of the country’s highest satisfaction levels – rating it the best public university in Queensland, and among the nation's top two in the Student Experience Survey.

Students rated the overall ‘quality of educational experience’ at UniSC eight percent higher than the national average. More here.

An MBA Taster Evening is happening at UniSC Moreton Bay campus from 6pm on 27 October.
