Hundreds to graduate at USC ceremonies

The University of the Sunshine Coast will stage five graduation ceremonies this week at the USC Stadium at Sippy Downs, with crowds totalling 3,000 expected to attend.

More than 600 graduates will cross the stage to receive awards on Wednesday and Thursday when the University holds its final graduation ceremonies for the Sunshine Coast this year, following 20 similar events in April.

There will be plenty of pomp and ceremony, including academic processions, the presentation of honorary awards, and the awarding of medals to high-achieving students.

USC’s Deputy Chancellor Scott Williams will confer degrees and certificates on graduates at the ceremonies starting at 10am, 2pm and 6pm on Wednesday and 10am and 2pm on Thursday.

Media are welcome to attend any of the five ceremonies at the USC Stadium. The best times for filming/photography will be in the hour before or after each ceremony.

The stadium has a COVID-safe plan and guests will be encouraged to follow State Government requirements regarding wearing masks.

All graduation ceremonies will be video-streamed live on the USC website and can be viewed after ceremonies have finished.
