USC is delivering a series of short study modules to help businesses and individuals improve their social media presence and build their leaderships skills.
As part of the University’s postgraduate Business study options, USC is offering two TE (Theory and Experience) Courses at its Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay campuses, starting this month.
The Social Media Strategy and Content Creation course is designed to help business owners or individuals increase their social media presence and performance through creating compelling and strategic social media content.
Presenter Dr Karen Sutherland is a Senior Lecturer in Public Relations at USC and was last year awarded the Social Media Marketing Institute's Best Social Media Educator.
“The aim of these workshops is to help participants learn how to use social media strategically and confidently in a way that supports their business goals,” Dr Sutherland said.
The series of six short modules will provide essential skills to assess a business’s current performance, target audience and competitors, and will guide participants in using this research to develop, implement and evaluate a social media strategy.
“The modules could be taken as a suite or individually, offering greater flexibility,” Dr Sutherland said.
The course will be held at USC Sunshine Coast from 4-13 November and at USC Moreton Bay from 18-26 November.
The Leadership for High Performance Teams course teaches team leaders or aspiring leaders the key elements of effective leadership and how to understanding different personality styles and team dynamics
Presenter Dr John Whiteoak is a USC Lecturer in Human Resource Management with more than 20 years’ experience working with many well-known organisations as a management consultant and workplace trainer.
“This course involves three modules that provide the foundational skills to help people build a more productive and engaged workplace culture by developing practical leadership skills that can be applied to any team or organisation,” Dr Whiteoak said.
“If people are currently working in a supervisory role or have an ambition to move into management and have at least three years of work experience, this course will provide them with some key skills and knowledge.”
The Leadership course will be offered at USC’s Sunshine Coast campus from 22 October - 5 November.
Participants who finish the courses will receive a USC Certificate of Completion and can gain credit or partial credit towards a relevant Business or and Creative Industries degree or certificate at USC by successfully completing additional assessment.
