USC to help boost leadership skills of students

More than 60 student leaders from across the University of the Sunshine Coast are set to attend a special professional development symposium at USC on Tuesday 6 February.

Interactive workshops and discussions will be held from 8.45am–3.15pm, with USC Executive members and staff, alumni and students presenting sessions to help boost the students’ leadership skills and develop both student-staff and peer-peer partnerships.

Participants will include students from USC’s Fraser Coast, Gympie, Sippy Downs and SouthBank campuses who are members of the Student Representative Council and the Student Guild, leaders of clubs, societies, committees and boards, as well as study leaders and leadership award nominees.

The best times for media to attend will be from 12–12.45pm for a discussion panel about ‘Leadership in the real world’ and then lunch from 12.45–1.45pm.

The symposium has been organised jointly by the University’s Student Representative Council and USC’s Student Services and Engagement.
