Scholarship applications for Semester 1, 2025 are now open and close on 3 December 2024 (extended).
Please be aware you may not be able to access the scholarship application form from 30 November to the morning of 2 December 2024 due to system maintenance.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by close of business, 28 February 2025.
The Kal’owendha Bursary aims to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and provides financial assistance to offset the costs associated with tertiary study that can have a significant impact on a student's ability to further their education.
Each bursary will be valued at $2,500 and is paid to the recipient as equal fortnightly instalments in Semester 1 of the relevant year. Part-time and full-time recipients are eligible for the full bursary value (pro-rata will not be applied to part-time enrolment).
Please Note: This scholarship is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, the scholarship will not be awarded.

- Eligibility
- Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- full-time or part-time continuing student having successfully completed a minimum of 96 units (8 courses)
- enrolled in any undergraduate program at any UniSC campus
- minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0
- Australian citizen
- Selection criteria
- financial need
- hours worked in paid employment or commitment to activities that impact on the time available for the student to study (e.g. compulsory fieldwork placement, significant carer responsibilities) and other equity considerations
