To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Aspley, the Club has established the Glen Kinross Rotary Scholarship Fund. In selecting “Glen Kinross” as the name of the scholarship, Rotarians are acknowledging Glen Kinross’s remarkable contribution to Rotary and to the development of young people. Mr Kinross served as President of the Hamilton Rotary Club, District 9600 District Governor and Rotary International President 1997/8, during his 60 years of service to Rotary. A highlight of this service was his appointment as Rotary International President in 1997-98, with his theme of “Show Rotary Cares – For your community – For our world – For it’s people”. During his tenure as International President he promoted literacy and numeracy as a way of enabling people to lift themselves out of poverty.

The Glen Kinross Rotary Scholarship Fund is supported by the following Rotary Clubs: Rotary Club of Aspley.

Through the Fund, Rotary will support tertiary education for students who demonstrate academic potential but face financial and other barriers to completing an undergraduate degree. The Glen Kinross Rotary Scholarship will support an eligible student who graduated from a high school within the Australian Mainland catchment area of Rotary District 9620 to undertake study at the UniSC Moreton Bay campus.

The Glen Kinross Rotary Scholarship aims to offset living and study related costs, giving the recipient the freedom to focus on their education without having to work excessive hours, removing some of the barriers that may hinder academic achievement.

One new scholarship will be awarded every second year, commencing in Semester 1, 2021. The Scholarship will be paid in eight fortnightly instalments of A$250 (A$2,000 per semester) for up to six (6) semesters of study.

Please Note:  This scholarship is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, the scholarship will not be awarded.
