Kiwi living in Aus?
You could save thousands on your university degree
If you’re a New Zealander living in Australia, from 1 July 2023, you can fast-track your Aussie citizenship application.
As an Australian citizen, you’ll enjoy the same benefits as your Australian classmates, some of which include Higher Education subsidies and access to Government loans and assistance.
With access to student loans and the opportunity to save thousands on your study fees, getting a university education is a real option for you. So, if you’re a Kiwi living in Aus, there’s never been a better time to make a start on your future.
As an Australian citizen...
You'll receive these education benefits
- Access to Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs): Commonwealth supported places are substantially subsidised by the Australian Government so that you only pay 'student contribution" amounts. The student contribution amount varies depending on the course you’re studying and how much funding the Government provides.
- Embrace the HECS-HELP loan program: As a newly minted Australian citizen, you’ll gain access to the HECS-HELP (Higher Education Loan Program) scheme. The loan program helps eligible students to pay their student contribution amounts.
- Other Government loans and assistance: You may also be eligible to access other government loans and financial support for study and living. Explore the many options available to you through Services Australia.
