The Graduate Certificate in Nursing (General Practice) is designed to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to practise competently within the general practice environment, and to contribute to the further development of the speciality.
The aim is to expand the skills and knowledge base of practice nurses and support the development of flexible, informed and evidence-based practices. The program is particularly designed to enable students to apply and adapt new knowledge and skills directly to their work environment.
To ensure accessibility and flexibility the program will be available online. Professional placement in a General Practice is included for students who are not employed as a practice nurse. Assessment is tailored to meet student learning needs.
Admission requirements
Applicants must be registered nurses, with a current licence to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

For professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), graduates are required to demonstrate English language skills at IELTS level 7 or equivalent. Test results from relevant examinations will generally need to be obtained within two years prior to applying for registration.
