Our program is designed to support your transition from a Registered Nurse’s role to professional roles, academia or further study. You’ll complete a professional internship to gain practical experience and it could even help you secure a job at the end of your degree.
The opening of a new public hospital in 2016 presents tremendous job opportunities, or consider further research such as the Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy.
Admission requirements
Students will have satisfied the requirements for the award of an AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Nursing Science award (or equivalent), be registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), met the English language requirement and have demonstrated a high level of achievement evidenced by a GPA of 5.0 over the second and third year of the degree program.

Membership
Graduates would be eligible to apply for membership to the Australian College of Nursing.

To graduate from the Bachelor of Nursing Science (Honours) a student is required to complete 48 units of coursework at AQF Level 8 and 48 units of study in the research component.

Plus select one (1) of the following courses:

Research component
Complete the following four (4) courses:
NUR731A Communication and Thought
NUR731B Introduction to Economics
NUR731C Introduction to Management
NUR731F Introduction to Tourism, Leisure and Events
Classes of honours
The degree will be awarded in one of the three classes:
- Class 1
- Class 2 (awarded as Division 1 or Division 2)
- Class 3
