SWK705 Direct Practice 2

Social work is a dynamic area of professional practice. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to actively contribute to a range of processes, which have relevance across a range of practice contexts. Such processes may include those related to collaboration and partnering within and across disciplinary, organisational and system boundaries, facilitation of developmental change processes or collective action, the mediation of conflict involving multiple parties, and the writing of well-founded social work reports and advice to assist decision making. Such processes often occur in practice contexts typified by social and systemic complexities and containing significant ethical challenges for social work. This course develops student capacity to explicitly identify, reflect on and respond to complexity and ethical challenges as they undertake these processes.
