Emily Vaughan is a Mental Health Clinician with the Thompson Institute’s clinical service for young people, Myndset.

Emily is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and holds a Masters in Social Work (2018). She has a background working in Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Aftercare, and in Disability.

In her position with Myndset, Emily provides psychological interventions and clinical care coordination to young people with or at risk of developing complex or severe mental illness. Emily places value on developing respectful and trusting relationships with her clients, creating a safe and collaborative environment. She works from a strengths-based and functional recovery framework, bringing a warm and non-judgemental style to her practice. She is passionate about supporting this cohort of clients to build upon their current skillset, increase their knowledge and emotional understanding, and to empower individuals to make positive changes in their life.

Emily is also a Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher and has taught full time for 10 years in a range of settings, including yoga studios, schools, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres, and corporate classes. She incorporates the principles of mindfulness into her intervention sessions with clients.

She is a member of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
