Of Late brings together selected artworks from the University of the Sunshine Coast Art Collection acquired over the last five years (2018-2023).

Although collected independently of one another, throughout the work of the 18 artists represented in the exhibition interconnecting themes emerge. Many of the artists foreground their working processes to explore their chosen medium's material and conceptual possibilities. Some respond to the social and physical aspects of place, while others turn inward to the intimate and personal. Together, the works reflect the changing shape of the UniSC Art Collection and contemporary Australian art of late.

UniSC actively acquires for the collection with a strong commitment to collecting artworks by Australian artists that have been made within the lifetime of UniSC (1996 onwards), Queensland artists with a focus on works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, and artists who have a connection to UniSC and its regions. With over 1000 works, the UniSC Art Collection has been enriched through the generosity of many individuals. We gratefully acknowledge those who have shared in our vision of building a collection of cultural significance.
