Chancellor's Stole (September 2018)
John Shadforth was awarded the Chancellor's Stole in September 2018 in recognition of his 20 years of service to the University as a member of the USC Foundation Board.
John’s work as a ‘community builder’ is widely known across the Sunshine Coast. In 2011, John was made an Honorary Senior Fellow of the University to recognise his contribution to USC and the Sunshine Coast community. Since this time, he has continued to work tirelessly in support of USC.
John was one of the founding and most active members of the USC Foundation Board, serving for 20 years. He provided exemplary leadership as a Board member and was a tireless champion for student scholarships, hosting community breakfasts and other events on campus to engage his network and draw in the community. John was instrumental in setting up the Foundation Board’s engagement initiative, the ‘Wednesday Club’, to share the USC message with key stakeholders on the Coast, and to promote philanthropy by example.
He has been a donor and, of even greater significance, a major catalyst for friend-raising and fund-raising for the University. John has made a very valuable contribution to the university by championing its values, reputation and its connection into the community for over two decades.
