EO Online supports USC’s commitment to equity. This self-paced, interactive online training program provides theoretical knowledge and a practical understanding of how to apply equal opportunity principles in work and study environments. This program has been developed for the higher education sector by a consortium of Australian universities, using real-life case studies and examples.
Each module takes approximately 60-90 minutes to complete, depending on your familiarity with the content. A module can be completed in more than one session. There is no time limit for completion of quizzes or limit to the number of times a quiz can be attempted.
EO Online for Staff
All new staff are required to complete EO Online within one week of commencement. It is recommended that staff re-visit EO Online material every two years to keep up to date with legislative changes, and to use the program as a resource when necessary.
The training program is presented in two modules:
- Module 1 should be completed by all staff
- Module 2 should be completed by staff with managerial or supervisory responsibilities
When modules are completed, a Certificate of Attainment will be issued and a record of completion will be recorded by Human Resources.
Staff will need to register the first time EO Online is accessed. Select the University of the Sunshine Coast from a list of institutions provided and enter the following details:
- USC email address
- full name
- organisational unit
- staff (PeopleSoft) ID number
You will also set your own password for future access. The record is activated by hitting the submit button. It is important that this action is taken, otherwise a record of completion will not be made.
Staff are provided an opportunity to submit feedback on completion of each EO Online module. EO Online is reviewed regularly and staff comments are a key component of the review process. To report any access problems you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone +61 7 5430 2830.
EO Online for Students
Students are encouraged to re-visit EO Online periodically to refresh their knowledge, and to use the program as a resource when necessary. Students are not required to register their completion of EO Online (this applies only to University staff).
From a University computer students can gain access to EO Online via the University website without a password.
Human Resources maintains a confidential record of the names of EO Online participants and dates of successful completion of EO Online. The primary collection purpose is to meet the University’s obligations under Federal and state Legislation. Other purposes of collection include program evaluation, with de-identified information used for reporting purposes and for the preparation of various statistical analyses.
