One of Australia’s top-rated public universities for student experience is expanding its national footprint by opening a new campus in Adelaide.

The University of the Sunshine Coast Adelaide will open in the city’s Victoria Square this July for the start of Semester Two. The campus will be led by Academic Director and Principal Professor Roberta Crouch, most recently a Professor of Business Management specialising in International Marketing, Wine Business and Tourism at Flinders University.  

She was also the university’s Director of the Master of Business Administration and Master of Business programs. 

UniSC Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Helen Bartlett, said Professor Crouch was well-placed to position UniSC as a quality provider of higher education for international students.

“Roberta’s collaborative approach and expertise in curriculum development and accreditation processes will be instrumental in shaping the academic programs at UniSC Adelaide,” Professor Bartlett said.

“She also has global experience working with student recruitment specialists in international markets and teaching international students on and offshore. This extensive international experience includes conducting research and teaching internationally in France, Finland, Singapore, the US, UK, Germany, Vietnam, China and Indonesia, and Korea.” 

Professor Bartlett said the UniSC Adelaide campus was an opportunity to expand the University’s quality student experience, industry connections and growing global reputation to South Australia.

The 2023-24 Good Universities Guide rated UniSC the nation’s number one public university for overall postgraduate student experience, and the second best nationwide for undergraduates.

“Students at UniSC reported overall ‘quality of educational experience’ rates eight percent higher than the national average,” Professor Bartlett said.

“We are thrilled for the opportunity to offer that same level of student satisfaction and teaching quality in Adelaide.”  Teaching will start in Semester Two, with postgraduate programs across Cyber Security and Forensics and Information and Communications Technology.

The introduction of additional programs will be guided by student demand and local assessment of priority skills needs and Professor Bartlett said the campus location would provide opportunities for students to gain hands-on industry experience - a hallmark of UniSC degrees.

The University of the Sunshine Coast has five campuses in South East Queensland, at Moreton Bay, Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast and Gympie.
