Hope for trauma survivors
Construction of the National PTSD Research Centre is progressing at UniSC’s Thompson Institute.
The first of its kind in Australia and based on international models that have had phenomenal success rates, our Centre will:
- Deliver breakthrough research into the causes, impacts and treatments of PTSD
- Develop pharmaceutical and therapeutic interventions
- Establish Australia’s first PTSD brain bank, allowing research into brain chemistry and structure
- Provide clinical services for PTSD sufferers
- Advocate and educate for better support of PTSD patients
The Centre is a continuation of the Thompson Institute’s unique model of integrating research, education, clinical services and advocacy. This supports the fast translation of research into practice.
