Helping a person to meet their daily needs and activities is central to quality nursing practice. You will be introduced to the foundations of nursing practice including professional practice standards and codes, person focussed care principles, and skills to communicate, assess and begin to provide care. You will be supported in hands on practice, and learn how to reflect on your learning and set goals for further learning. In a two week (80 hours) supervised and assessed placement you will have the opportunity to care for older people who live in community residential care settings.
