Justin Carter


Justin Carter is an educator, game designer and researcher. Justin currently lectures in the Bachelor of Design (Game Design). His experience includes the design and leadership of both undergraduate and honours programs with a focus on games and interaction design.

Justin is committed to providing transformative learning experiences within the creative industries. Recently (2018) he was awarded funding from the Department of Education and Training’s Endeavour STMP. This program provided opportunities for participants to visit London, Paris and Cologne to engage with industry-leading game developers. Justin has extensive experience in leading the design and creation of innovative applied learning environments including, a games innovation and research lab, virtual production studio and an on-campus games production studio.

Justin has supervised honours research projects on topics such as game design, virtual reality, photogrammetry, game programming, 3D modelling and animation. Justin’s doctoral research focuses on game design, specifically examining the evolution of game feel (virtual sensation) as a principle of game design.
