Tokyo 2020 Sunshine Coast welcome home

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions across Queensland this event will be open to 100% capacity with allocated seating only. It is essential that you book your tickets online in advance.

Please join us to celebrate the achievements of all Sunshine Coast Olympians, Paralympians and Officials that participated in the 2020 Tokyo Games.

This event is being organised by Ted O’Brien MP, Member for Fairfax, in conjunction with the University of the Sunshine Coast, Noosa Council and Sunshine Coast Council with the assistance of the Australian Olympic Committee and Paralympics Australia.

Representatives from relevant sporting organisations, local schools and members of the community are invited to join us in welcoming home our athletes and team officials and be inspired by their achievements.

This is a free community event, however you will need to reserve your places via online booking. Seating will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so we suggest you book early to avoid disappointment.

Masks are mandatory

The Queensland Government have advised that masks must be worn when attending major events. All attendees are required to bring their own mask.

It’s a requirement to wear your mask upon entry/exit and moving around the venue. The only exception is when sitting in your allocated seat and consuming food and beverage.

COVID-19 Safety

  • Stay at home if you feel unwell. If you have COVID-19 symptoms, get tested;
  • Maintain 1.5m physical distancing within the event precinct;
  • Practice healthy hygiene. Wash your hands regularly and cover your coughs and sneezes;
  • To assist with contract tracing we encourage all patrons to check in to the venue using the QLD Government App;
  • Adhere to all venue and directional signage.

The USC Stadium is operating under a COVID-19 Site Specific Plan which has been approved by Queensland Health. Copies of the Plan are available upon request - please email


Free public parking is available in the Claymore Road car park (CP15). All other USC carparks are regulated Monday to Friday 8am-6pm. To locate paid parking zones and Ticketless Parking Meters, refer to the USC Parking Map. Event parking is not permitted in the Service Centre opposite Chancellor State College.

USC carparks 12A, 12B and 12C are the closest carparks to the Stadium. Accessible parking is available in 12A and 12C.


Information on public transport to USC Stadium and USC main campus. If using public transport, do what makes you comfortable and take precautions to keep yourself safe.

Bicycle racks can be found on the western side of the USC Stadium, next to the USC Athletics Track.


This event is free to the public. However, for COVID contact tracing purposes, tickets must be pre-booked.


Entry to the USC Stadium will be via the Northern, Eastern, and Southern entries. Please check your allocated seat and use the entry closest for your convenience.
