Mikkayla describes the whole of 2018 as a highlight- she made her first senior Australian team, made her first Commonwealth Games, making the final. Following her maiden appearance, she picked up a gold medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay and broke the Australian record, at the Pan Pacific Championships.
A promising youngster, she collected nine gold medals at the National Age Championships in 2009. Mikkayla is focused on improving even more over the next year with her favoured 200m freestyle stroke, citing her big goal as making the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
