Am I able to borrow?

USC students and staff are automatically registered to borrow from USC Library.

If you fit into one of the following categories, you are eligible to borrow from USC Sunshine Coast General Collection:

USC Alumni / graduates

  • registration is free
  • USC Alumni are eligible to register for in person borrowing from the USC Library. To register you will need to bring photo ID to the Library Help Desk and complete an Alumni registration form.
  • Alumni are also eligible for remote access to selected Library databases for non-commercial purposes. You do not need to register to use the databases. Login using your USC network login (the same one you used as a student). Contact the Student IT Help Desk to reset your password if necessary.

Reciprocal borrowing is available to staff and students of universities which participate in the University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) agreement. Students enrolled through Open Universities Australia and TAFE may register as a Community member.

Under the agreement the borrowing conditions are set by the host institution, taking into consideration a number of factors including the size of the collection and demand on resources.

As borrowing conditions at this Library may vary from those at your home institution, it is important that you familiarise yourself with the conditions outlined below, as a failure to do so may result in penalties.

The Library collection has been developed to support the teaching and research needs of the staff and students of USC, so you may find that we do not hold some of the resources that you need.

The Library at your home institution is the best source of information in these instances.

You can access the library databases from a number of designated computers within the Library that do not require authentication. We are not able to provide remote access to databases for reciprocal members due to licensing restrictions.

You will have remote access to databases via your home institution.
