Facilities

UniSC is home to some of the most advanced facilities in Australia, including simulated nursing and paramedic labs, advanced engineering technologies, and state-of-the-art creative industries’ facilities.

Medical and health sciences

Nursing and Midwifery

In the state-of-the-art simulation labs at UniSC, Bachelor of Nursing Science and Bachelor of Midwifery students hone their practical skills. These labs are designed to mimic the environment of a fully functional hospital ward.

Paramedic Science

Fully equipped with the latest technology, the simulated on-road ambulance provides Paramedic Science students with a realistic setting to practice handling emergency situations. In addition, a training area allows students to simulate patient treatment in a home environment.

Nutrition

Our Nutrition students utilise a industry standard, fully equipped commercial kitchen to refine their culinary skills, conduct food preparations, and successfully complete their practical assessments.

Engineering

At UniSC, students studying various engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, or Mechatronic, utilise these modern engineering facilities to apply their theoretical knowledge into practical scenarios.

Manufacturing and structural testing

The manufacturing laboratory has two state-of-the-art, computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines used to convert students' ideas into prototypes.

Engineering training area

This multi-purpose laboratory is for practical experiments that reinforce course content. It's used for everything from pavement engineering and materials testing to geomechanics, fluid mechanics and hydrology.

Robotics and automation lab

The big, orange ABB robot helps students learn fundamentals like robot path planning and pick-and-place movements.

Law and criminology

UniSC's Moot court located at UniSC Sunshine Coast is a near replica of the Caloundra Magistrates Court where Law students can practice appearing in court.

Creative Industries

Creative Industries precinct

Tour our Creative Industries precinct, home to some amazing collaborations for music, theatre, art and screen media projects across the region. This $5.5M state-of-the-art facility features professional-quality recording and video studios, a black box theatre production space, and Queensland's first MIT Fab Lab Maker Space.

Art Gallery

The University of the Sunshine Coast Art Gallery is a space where art, ideas and community come together. Located at UniSC Sunshine Coast, the Art Gallery was redeveloped in 2020 establishing itself as the leading public gallery in the region.

Science

The Science Super Lab is where UniSC Moreton Bay Science students conduct tests and analyse chemicals and other materials in liquid form, with the added bonus of integrated multimedia digital facilities.

Psychology and social work

The UniSC Psychology Telehealth Clinic provides free mental health services to the community using phone and video conferencing, and also functions as an advanced teaching, training and research facility for postgraduate students (provisionally registered psychologists) in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Master of Professional Psychology programs at UniSC.

Sport and fitness

UniSC Sunshine Coast High Performance Sport Precinct features a A$24M sports stadium, Olympic-standard 50 metre pool, 25 metre pool and aquatic recovery facilities, gym, and athletics track. The facilities are home to the Sunshine Coast Lightning netball team as well as Olympic and Paralympic champions.

Gyms

Two fully-equipped indoor gyms offer the latest equipment including indoor and outdoor functional training zones. Gym instruction caters to all fitness levels from high-performance athletes to beginner.

Aquatic

UniSC Sunshine Coast has an Olympic-standard, 10-lane, 50-metre heated pool, a six-lane 25-metre pool, cold immersion and warm plunge pool and aquatic recovery equipment. The elite training ground is used year-round by recreational swimmers and Olympic and Paralympic champions.

Sports Arena

The $24 million sports arena is the only facility of its kind in the region. It is fully air-conditioned, seats 3,000 spectators with national standard facilities for netball, basketball, futsal, hockey and badminton.
