How to apply for credit

Breadcrumbs

You can apply for credit after you've received an offer into a USC program. If you applied via QTAC, you need to submit your credit application to USC.

We can offer you general advice about applying, but we won’t be able to confirm whether you will receive credit until your application has been assessed.

We recommend applying for credit as early as possible and no later than the commencement of the relevant teaching period so you have plenty of time to finalise your enrolment.

International students are required to advise USC International of their application for Credit Transfer in accordance with the above timing.

How to apply for credit

Please allow up to three weeks for your application to be assessed. This time frame may be extended during peak periods and for complex applications.

For an application to be considered, you must provide:

  1. A completed Application for credit transfer and recognition of prior learning form.
  2. A copy of your official Statement of Academic Record from the institution(s) at which previous studies were undertaken. Please note that individual semester result notices are not an official record of previous study.
  3. A synopsis for any course/s for which you are seeking credit. Synopses must include the unit value of the course undertaken, level of the course (introductory or advanced) and number of hours contact/instruction undertaken.
  4. If your application is based on other relevant experience, documentation detailing relevant work experience such as references, position descriptions etc. Please note this is considered at the discretion of the School.
  5. Refer to the Credit Transfer—Academic Policy.
What happens next?

Once your application has been assessed, you will be notified by Student Services and Engagement via email to your USC student email account of the outcome of your application.
