‘O week’ kicks off for 2,200 new USC students

More than 2,200 new students started an exciting chapter of their lives today as the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Semester 2 Orientation Week got underway.

After an official welcome ceremony at USC’s main campus at Sippy Downs, students were treated to market stalls featuring local clubs and interest groups, a fast-paced Quidditch match, and a range of workshops about study skills and university life.

Social activities for the new students this week, mostly provided by the USC Student Guild, will include live music, free barbecues, a trivia night, a ‘great lake race’, and an inflatable obstacle course.

Orientation activities are also being held this week at USC’s other campuses at Gympie, Fraser Coast, Caboolture and Southbank in central Brisbane.

For those eyeing off university study for 2019, USC will hold its annual Open Day from 9.30am-2pm on Sunday 22 July.
