Orientation Week attracts thousands to USC

This week, thousands of new university students are flocking to USC campuses - from Fraser Coast to Southbank - to find out what university life has to offer.

First-year students are enjoying market stalls, live music, campus tour and workshops as they gear up to begin their studies on 24 February when Semester 1 starts.

The full USC Orientation program can be viewed online for events at Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast, Gympie, Caboolture and Southbank campuses, as well as the new Moreton Bay campus.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Students) Professor Denise Wood AM said Orientation events were important to help students prepare for university.

“Students will get to know their teaching staff, meet new friends, learn more about their study programs and be connected with the support services available at USC,” she said.

“Our study skills sessions will help students find out what to expect of university study. It’s also a fun week, with opportunities to socialise and get freebies, including their USC welcome bag and student diary.”
