Chance for residents to meet USC Moreton Bay

With USC’s new university campus opening in Moreton Bay next year, residents will have the chance to find out what to expect at one of four public meetings from May 23 to 30.

USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill said the town hall-style meetings would cover a broad range of topics including the vision for a university campus in Moreton Bay, the campus design, facilities, study programs and how people can enrol.

“It is also an opportunity to discuss transport, construction milestones, employment opportunities and other questions the public may have,” Professor Hill said.

The sessions will feature the virtual fly-through video to share the look and feel of the campus which is set to open in Semester 1, 2020.

The Meet USC Moreton Bay meetings will be held at:

  • North Lakes: North Lakes Sports Club Discovery Lounge, Thursday 23 May, 6pm to 7.30pm
  • Caboolture: USC Caboolture, Monday 27 May, 6pm to 7.30pm
  • Eatons Hill: Eaton’s Hill Hotel Hills Room, Tuesday 28 May, 6pm to 7.30pm
  • Petrie: Heritage Hotel and Function Centre Pioneer Room, Thursday 30 May, 6pm to 7.30pm.

Each meeting will also feature a staffed information booth where the community can ask questions, register their interest in future information and view the architectural model for the new campus.

Professor Hill, USC’s Chief Operating Officer Scott Snyder, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Engagement) Professor Joanne Scott and Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland will also address the meetings.

USC’s Moreton Bay campus will begin with a 16,000-square metre foundation building that will feature a 400-seat lecture theatre and state-of-the-art technology.

From next year, USC’s Moreton Bay campus will offer almost 50 undergraduate degree programs including business, education, computer science and mechatronics. An additional 16 programs are likely to be introduced in 2021 and 2022.
