Event brings together USC students and employers

Students gearing up to graduate this year from two of USC’s most popular degrees have gained vital job information direct from some of the biggest employers in their industry.

More than 200 Nursing Science and Midwifery students attended the disciplines’ 2019 USC Graduate Careers Information Day on 4 June to network with representatives from public and private hospital services, general practice and aged care facilities.

USC Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Experience Coordinator Bronwyn Doyle said it was a wonderful opportunity for the students to gain first-hand industry information and increase their understanding of career options, and for employers to meet eager USC students.

“The presenters were pleased to answer questions from the students regarding future job prospects in the public and private sectors and what the competitive recruitment process entails,” she said.

“Students also enjoyed hearing from recent graduates working in their dream jobs at local hospitals.

“We’re expecting another 200 students to watch the recording of the presentations in coming days.”
