Find out about studying Law at USC in 2015

2 October 2014

People interested in studying Law at USC next year have been invited to a special information night at USC's campus at Sippy Downs on Wednesday 15 October.

The event from 6-7pm will outline exciting developments at USC’s School of Law, including the introduction of new degrees, and explain the innovative ways in which students gain legal work experience.

Professor of Law Anne Rees said USC’s School of Law, which is Australia’s newest law school, offered unique opportunities that were not available at older, larger schools.

“From their very first year, our students assist legal practitioners when working with real clients at our Law clinic based at the Suncoast Community Legal Service, and this role continues throughout their studies,” she said.

“At the information session, we will discuss the value of a clinical legal education and why USC’s School of Law puts such an emphasis on clinical experience when not all law schools do.”

First-year student Chelsea Wallis, 20, will present a student’s perspective on studying Law and her experiences of clinical practice so far.

Information will be provided about the 10 different Law programs on offer at USC in 2015, including two new combined degrees: a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Property Economics and Development; and a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Planning).

After the presentation, there will be a question and answer session and the chance to chat with the speakers.

Another Law information session will be held at St Columban’s College, McKean Street, Caboolture, from 6-7pm on Thursday 23 October.

Those planning to attend either session are asked to register online.
