USC’s School of Communication and Creative Industries teaches and researches in one of the largest and most dynamic sectors of the global economy. The global cultural and creative industries sector alone generates $2.25 trillion dollars annually, employs 29.5 million people, and plays a significant role in every other sector, from banking to aerospace. It is growing faster than any other sector of the global economy and is unlikely to slow any time soon.
A degree in any of our three areas – Communication, Creative Industries, and Design – will give you the skills and mindset to adapt to an ever-changing future. It will enhance your creative abilities, provide you with an entrepreneurial edge, and give you the critical skills you need to navigate a world in which new and unprecedented challenges are part of every day.
The School is staffed by nationally and internationally recognised teachers, practitioners, and researchers in all of its fields. We offer specialisations in Creative Writing, Drama, Animation, Serious Games, Music, Photography, Graphic Art, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Screen Media, Social Media, and Languages.
Our degree programs aim to offer you the greatest amount of flexibility, both in the way you engage with our courses and in the courses you take. All of our degrees include opportunities for you to gain direct experience in the industries you want to make your career in and help you graduate with a professional portfolio and an industry network.
School staff are dedicated to the highest standards of education and research in their fields of expertise. They have a rare blend of professional experience and academic sophistication and can mentor you at every level of your academic career, from tertiary pathway learning to postgraduate awards.
