Beryl Spencer

Honorary Senior Fellow (April 2006)

Beryl Spencer was named an Honorary Senior Fellow in April 2006 in recognition of her tireless service to the Cooloola Shire community.

Beryl Spencer has lived in Cooloola and Kilkivan for more than 50 years. She has a wealth of experience within the youth and community sectors and has a personal interest in the needs of marginalised and disadvantaged people in the community. She supports youth issues and priorities, parents in difficulty, small business, and many other needs of the Cooloola community. Trained as a nurse at Gympie General Hospital, her community work now includes Chairperson on the Cooloola Private Hospital Advisory Committee, and President of the Gympie Chamber of Commerce. She has also been involved in lobbying to change and improve policies on health, aged care, drug abuse, law and order, and water.
