High School attended: Suncoast Christian College
Target graduation date: End of 2021
My Journey: Like most school-leavers, I was a bit apprehensive about my QTAC preferences and which institution I would attend. Both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Secondary Education really appealed to me. I was set on moving away to study, but saw USC offered a Bachelor of Arts/Education (Secondary). Realising I had a 5-star university right here on the coast that was also rated number one for student satisfaction in Queensland, it was really a no-brainer. I’m so glad I made the change. My experience has been so positive and I’m proud to be studying here at USC.
Career aspirations: Once finish my studies at USC, I hope to become a secondary teacher in a local high school on the Sunshine Coast. I plan to teach both English and History, subjects I am very passionate about.
Why did you become an ambassador?
I love studying at USC. I wanted to encourage people sitting on the fence about university and share my positive experience here at USC. I believed becoming a USC Student Ambassador would enrich both my university studies and the wider community.
What do you like about USC?
There is so much to love at USC. Having smaller class sizes means you don’t feel like you are lost in the crowd. Both the tutors and lecturers are very approachable and more than happy to make themselves available to help. The community at USC is both friendly and inclusive, making it easy to connect with classmates and form lasting friendships with your peers. I’ve also fallen in love with the USC Sippy Downs location, it makes my day when I see kangaroos hopping across campus!
