Shannon Morris

High School attended: Nambour State College

Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology

Target graduation date: 2022

My journey: Since I can remember, I have always had a passion for technology and tinkering with things. But after leaving high school early to take a labouring job, I didn’t think I would be able to handle the study load of university life. Soon after, I made car detailing my passion and started my own detailing business, however I didn’t understand the complexity of owning and running a business and had to close it down. Fortunately, I found the Tertiary Preparation Pathway at USC and enrolled after successfully passing all the courses. This gave me the courage and motivation to enrol in the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology as a mature age student and start the beginning of my academic journey.

Career aspirations: My future career aspirations are to become a network technician, and then to start a cloud-based server company on the Sunshine Coast.

Why did you become an Ambassador? I would like to be able to share my positive experience of USC to as many people as possible. And to inform people of the support and help, and quality of service that USC offers to every one of its students.

What do you like about USC? The atmosphere is great and you always feel comfortable to be yourself. Since enrolling, I have also made a lot of great friends at the library and through USC’s social events. The teachers and staff provide a great deal of support and always make you feel like you can succeed.
