Katherine Tucker

Bachelor of Science 2015

Kat (Katherine) Tucker is co-founder and presenter of Breathe Project, an independent health promotion and wellbeing initiative, with the aim to have one simple breathing technique embedded into all Australian primary and secondary schools for just 3 minutes each day. Breathe Project also supplies resources to schools to support the integration and sustainability of the program.

Along with partner and co-founder Bodhi Whitaker, Kat says they started Breathe Project because 'we wish we'd learned something like this while in school; we know that the stress and anxiety of school is demanding; and we want children to thrive not just survive".

Breathe Project started as a crowd funding project in 2016, that raised $14,000 from 200 people, but has now been implemented in 75 communities in 100 schools along the east coast of Australia from Far North Queensland through to Victoria.

It has received considerable media coverage, including 7 News, WIN News and ABC News and has grown from word of mouth and direct requests from the individual schools and their communities.

Kat majored in Health Promotion at USC and is a certified teacher of pranayama (breathwork) and yoga.
