USC study builds teacher’s confidence

One of the newest teachers in Wodonga, Victoria, says studying at the University of the Sunshine Coast helped her beat her shyness and pursue a career at the front of the classroom.
Codi Ringland-Jones, 22, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Primary Education and is currently working as a casual relief teacher at schools around Wodonga, with plans to teach full time.
“Studying helped me gain the confidence to start my career,” Codi said.
“At the beginning of my degree, I was really shy and didn’t get out that much. My studies helped me feel confident in being a teacher.”
After finishing school at Gympie State High School in Queensland, Codi went on to study at USC’s Gympie campus.
“I heard great things about USC from other people and the convenience of having a Gympie campus made studying so much easier for me,” she said.
“The staff are super helpful and friendly. Any time I would be unsure of something and panic about things, the staff would reassure me and help get me on the right track. The campuses are so modern and I enjoyed going to uni and using their facilities.”
