High school students to explore career options

About 150 Year 9 and 10 students from across the Fraser Coast will experience an early taste of university life and join in interactive career activities at USC Fraser Coast tomorrow.

USC’s Experience Day is designed to assist the young students at a key decision-making time in their schooling, as they choose their senior subjects and define career plans for life after high school.

The program includes a series of workshops by USC lecturers on careers including animal ecology, nursing, accounting, science, social work, counselling, tourism and events and sports studies.

As well as providing the students with an immersive university experience, it aims to raise their aspirations by exposing them to some of the careers and educational choices open to them when they leave school.
